About Us:
Buxton Lodge Care Home is a CQC registered care home which has been rated good. The home cares for up to 40 older people who require residential or nursing care, or who are living with dementia.
We currently offering 36 hours per week, inclusive of weekend work.
Hourly rate is £11.90 per hour
What does the job role involve?
We recognise that our residents are unique and respect that everyone needs their own space and time. We encourage and support everyone to participate in varied activities and events that are organised in all our homes.
Whether it’s just chatting in the living areas or gardens with friends and family, enjoying live entertainment or actively baking, getting creative with arts and crafts, each activity programme is centred around the individuals interests and hobbies.
The role includes:
- To work as part of a team to facilitate various activities within the home.
- Primary focus is to cater to the individual preferences, needs, and capabilities of each resident.
- Provide avenues for residents to engage in new experiences while encouraging their involvement in hobbies and activities they already enjoy.
- Building strong relationships with both residents and their families is integral to fostering emotional well-being.
- Assist in creating personalised schedules comprising meaningful activities tailored to each resident’s interests and abilities
- To maintain a stimulating programme of leisure pursuits and social events for both groups of residents and on an individual basis.
- To assist to ensure that the social care plan for each resident is in place within three weeks of the date of admission and reviewed regularly.
- To work with the senior team and assess each resident in order to identify their social and recreational requirements according to their likes, dislikes, abilities and needs.
- Any other ad hoc duties to meet the service delivery for our residents.

- Great communication skills
- Be able to follow and prioritise tasks and responsibilities
- Engage well with people we support in their continuing interests and supporting positive experiences
- Must be IT literate, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email systems
