The role requires a passionate Quality Professional with a proven record of quality assurance, clinical governance, training and regulatory compliance.

What does the job role involve?

The role includes but is not limited to:

  • The post holder will be required to assist the Managing Director in implementing evidence improvement activity at registered services.
  • To support Divisional Heads and senior managers in understanding the regulations, standards and current guidance in all areas that cover services Aurem supports and provide emerging new practice to be ahead of the curve in developing future ways of
  • Develop new and exciting ways of involving locations in the inspection and assessment of their services and ensure that senior managers are engaged in this
  • To drive significant improvements in the judgement of regulators in their assessment of the service quality of Aurem while tracking and responding to the developing regulators perspective of what outstanding quality looks like.
  • To improve services to our clients to enable them to provide positive outstanding outcomes for people we support, developing the workforce through sharing best practice initiatives and quality assurance measures and to promote a continuous improvement and learning culture within Aurem
  • To drive and ensure quality initiatives and quality improvements at a national and regional level to assist services to achieve outstanding and excellence in
  • To support the function of the Quality team as an advocate for best practice, learning and management skills development.
  • To develop a process for learning lessons from incidents, safeguarding, practice, Root Cause Analysis and including improvement, positive practice, and outstanding outcomes across the group
  • To lead on ensuring a robust response to service areas that require strong leadership by the post holder, identified weaknesses in leadership at regional and service level, lack of clear processes and systems and lack of accountability within the

 Regulatory Compliance 

  • Implement appropriate methods to monitor compliance against UK wide regulation using regular internal compliance inspections and other methods of assessing standards and
  • Be responsible for supporting senior managers and Registered Managers in preparing for regulatory
  • Proactively assist senior managers and Registered Managers and staff, when necessary, in the successful execution of regulatory inspections
  • Develop sound systems to ensure that all regulatory evidence is effectively collated and updated and accessible at a service level and across the Aurem.
  • Provide direction to senior managers and Registered Managers when responding to compliance reports and developing action plans as required with clear timeframes embedded within action
  • Drive change to achieve the actions that may come from inspections or
  • Undertake, with the team, internal regulatory compliance inspections as per an annual programme or where a service requires remedial assistance and in response to significant events.
  • Work with the learning & development team, senior managers and Registered Managers and other key staff to develop training materials and guidance on evidence gathering in support of the compliance
  • Develop, implement, and monitor relevant and appropriate action plans in relation to non- compliance and/or poor performance.
  • To review all new guidance and information from regulatory bodies to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of regulation and disseminate to all relevant
  • To provide regular and robust reports on themes and trends from internal and external compliance reviews including learning outcomes.
  • Develop a delivery Plan for the Annual Audit Programme by allocating audits as required within the team and undertaking the same where required.
  • Produce (in line with Aurem standards) training packages and presentations on any changes within regulation and practice where this is required.

Policy Development 

  • Maintain an up do date knowledge of regulatory requirements and statutory information that informs and underpins company
  • Contribute to policy development to ensure that company policy is relevant to current regulatory
  • Provide service/other key staff with up to date and accessible information regarding policy and procedural changes and implement monitoring systems to guarantee company
  • Drive change in policy development in considering the changing nature of the people we support or those we will
  • Measure the effectiveness of policy and procedures within services and ensure changes are achieved to reflect the need to be
  • To actively be part of research and development with external partners to ensure that Aurem is fit for purpose now and in the
  • To seek to be part of areas of development and be a voice for Aurem in areas of policy development with both regulators and in government departments
  • To develop networks both internally and externally to develop best practice and outcomes across Aurem

Management of staff and others 

  • Undertake line management responsibility of delegated staff in the Quality
  • Ensure that developmental supervision and appraisals are achieved to deliver a first-class

What makes a successful candidate:

  • Proven, extensive experience of working in a social care, training, or health setting. 
  • Previous experience of working as a Head of Quality or similar role
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to travel throughout a wide geographical location
  • Demonstrates awareness, diplomacy, sensitivity and empathy with the issues of vulnerability, disability and independence. 
  • Ability to plan and manage the workload required to meet the compliance aspects of the organisation 
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and IT skills. 
  • Can respond positively to change, and work effectively under pressure and deal with conflicting priorities. 
  • Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing personal development.
