Weekly singalong hits the right note with Chesterfield care home residents

A weekly singing session at a Chesterfield care home is proving a big hit with residents, bringing people together for music, friendship and plenty of conversation. More than 20 residents and friends at Brimington Care Home, part of Aurem Care, regularly take part in the Wednesday morning singalong, which has become a firm fixture in the home’s calendar. Chefs from across Aurem Care have completed specialist training designed to further enhance the quality, safety and presentation of meals for residents with swallowing difficulties. The training focused on the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) framework, which provides globally recognised guidance on the preparation and testing of texture-modified foods and thickened liquids for people living with dysphagia.
