South Haven Lodge Care Home in Southampton has received a positive outcome following a recent privately commissioned inspection, with the home rated as ‘Good’ overall.
The inspection was carried out on 7th May 2026 by Simon Cavadino of The Woodberry Partnership, previously with the Care and Quality Commission (CQC). The report highlighted strong performance across all key areas, noting that the home is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
Inspectors praised the person-centred approach to care, commenting:
“Care was delivered in a calm, cheerful and dedicated way by a sufficient number of staff. Personal care was observably of a good standard. Feedback from residents about the care they received was complimentary and grateful. The environment was clean and well presented, with no unpleasant odours noted, and there was much in the way of renovation taking place for the future.”
The report also recognised the strength of the home’s operational and clinical systems, including care planning, medication management and record keeping:
“Care planning was of a good standard and the manager aimed to improve the care plans still further. Medication systems were safely managed.”
