Aaron House Bake Sale Raises Funds for Residents’ Activities

Residents, staff, families and friends at Aurem’s Aaron House care home, in Penicuik, recently came together for a joyful and successful bake sale, raising funds in support of the Residents’ Fund. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, an impressive £93 was raised, which will go directly towards activities, outings and special experiences for residents.

The event was filled with a wonderful selection of homemade cakes, traybakes and biscuits, alongside plenty of tea, coffee and conversation. Residents were at the heart of the day, enjoying the opportunity to get involved, choose their favourite treats and spend quality time socialising with visitors and staff in a lively, welcoming atmosphere.

Clayre from the Activities Team shared:
“Supporting our Residents’ Fund is something really important to me because it allows us to create extra special moments for the people who live here, whether that’s additional trips out, entertainment, or activities that bring joy and connection. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who baked cakes, bought cakes, and of course ate the cakes! The support from staff, families, residents and friends was amazing and helped us raise a fantastic £93 for our residents.”

Resident Nancy Baird, aged 88, added:
“The bake sale was packed with people — absolutely fabulous! There was a great crowd, a lovely atmosphere, and everyone enjoyed a nice cup of tea and lots of goodies.”

A huge thank you goes to everyone who contributed by baking, attending and supporting the event. Community activities like this truly highlight the kindness, teamwork and warm spirit that make Aaron House such a special place to live and visit.
